The dogs and I spent a week in a cabin at just under 10000 feet. On our first full morning I drove over to Cottonwood Pass were we hiked north and took advantage of no thunder clouds to spend all the time above timberline that we wanted to.

Every morning after that we got into the cycle of hiking and exploring early, and relaxing around the cabin all afternoon and evening. Late in the day I pulled a chair into the aspen grove and sat and read while the dogs slept in the grass.

The cabin was pretty small, but perfect for us four.
