Too much safety and too much comfort makes our lives dull and bland. Never forget that two of the most common activities of a normal life - driving in cars and sitting in front of a television, are activities that have us sitting on our butt on a cushioned seat, which often does nothing more for our sense of adventure than getting a wider posterior.
Leave the car and the television behind and climb up a high trail as a storm has the mountains in its hold. Pitch your tent on a high ridge and ride out the weather and the nighttime hours in the dry safety and comfort of your tent, then go out at dawn and see how beautiful the landscape is after a storm, standing on the mountain heights over a wilderness valley as the morning sun breaks through the clouds. Do that and you will start to get a feeling for real adventure.
